The first animal video countdown of 2012! A lot of you are probably wondering, "How does it feel?" And if asked to clarify you'd probably continue, "You know, looking for animal videos in 2012 rather than 2011. Does it feel any different? Any new struggles or new successes? C'mon, just give us some insight into what it's like. Everyone wants to know." And that's really kind, I'm really glad that you're so interested in all of it, that's really very nice and flattering, but I do have to say that it's all EXACTLY the same. With the exception of their being one incredibly adorable baby polar bear video that, in fairness, came out at the end of 2011, it is no different than it was last year. I guess that's just something you learn when you get older, you know? You think the changing of the calendar year is going to bring huge changes to your weekly search for youtube animal videos -- every year you think the same thing, that you're going to wake up and it's going to feel different -- but it never does. C'est la vie. "So it goes." You just have to remember that, in any case, what you're doing is remarkably pleasant because animal videos are the best thing in the world. Wow, Baby Siku. You really took it this week. You barely even had to wake up to capture the hearts of 100% of the people with access to your video, and now here you are, winning the most prestigious animal video honor: #1 video in Videogum's Petting Zoo. "Not since Annie has America' been so captivated by an orphan," an article about you would probably say. Wonderful, wonderful job. I LOVE YOU SO MUCH! Also hahaha, great job, Turtle. "Not since Entourage has America felt so comfortable laughing at a struggling Turtle," an article about you would probably say. I'm sorry about your depth perception, but you have to understand that it is VERY cute and I'm sure you get to eat a lot normally and you are the best and I love you, too. Turtle high-five, you guys are great too. I'm not totally sure about this but I feel pretty comfortable saying that this is the first shell-to-shell (l.o.l.) turtle win in Petting Zoo history. Congrats. And to the dog who loves guitar, you're great and I don't want to hear ANYTHING about how that video is maybe doctored to make it so great. Can't we just enjoy it? Plus I don't think it is.
