Have you heard THE NEWS? The only news on the whole internet? In the whole world, maybe? Also I think it's the only thing all the aliens in space are alien blogging about? By now I'm sure you have, but just to recap: At a New Yorker Festival event on Sunday, October 2nd, Mich Hurwitz announced plans for an Arrested Development movie with a ten-episode TV stint leading up to its release in 2013ish. That sounds great! Very good news! But also it still sounds like kind of a big maybe. Right? Here are some Mich Hurwitz New Yorker Festival quotes from The New York Times:
“We don’t completely own the property, there are business people involved and studios and that kind of thing. Just creatively, I have been working on the screenplay for a long time and found that as time went by, there was so much more to the story."
And then also:
“We’re trying to do a limited-run series into the movie. We’re basically hoping to do nine or 10 episodes, with almost one character per episode.”
"Don't completely own the property." "Trying." "Hoping." Those sound like heartbreak words to me! But, I sincerely hope that they will not turn out to be heartbreak words.
