Monsters’ Ball: The Week’s Best Comments

6:00 PM EDT on June 24, 2011

So, ELEPHANT IN THE ROOM, Gabe hasn't been here today. You were stuck with me for the whole day and I, like a cunning babysitter, didn't mention it until the end of it all. "Oh, mommy? She's in the other room. Hey, what's that on the floor? Let's goooo look at it. Bedistractedbedistractedbedistracted." God, remember when Peter Falk died? That was horrible news, not only because it was horrible that Peter Falk died (RIP) but also because I had to do a "Heaven Just Got A Little More," which I had never done. Is that a little too behind-the-curtain to talk about? I hope not. But anyway I did it, you did it, we're all here together and it's the end of the week. Let's celebrate ourselves with the Monsters Ball, shall we?

After the jump, the five Highest Rated comments, as voted on by you, the Lowest Rated comment, the Ryan Gosling Carrying A Dog Caption Contest winner, and the Associate Editor’s Choice.

Yeah… I don’t think it was a joke at all. He meant it and he’s right.

As Chekhov said, “If you’re going to have Dragon eggs in the season premiere, they better hatch by the season finale”

I like the guy, but he's turned into a bit of a troll lately. everyone knows what Dunn did was stupid and they don't need Ebert to point that out or make smartass comments while his friends are still grieving.I'm not saying i disagree with him, just that he needs to stfu."Oh why thank you Roger Ebert for pointing out that drinking and driving is dangerous! The fact that our friend did that (still officially unconfirmed, btw) and it cost him his life wasn't enough of a hard lesson, so you pointing it out on Twitter and being a dickhead was exactly what we needed at this time."

Someone remove Ebert's feeding tube please, it's time for him to be taken out to pasture

[Assoc. Ed. Note: Uhhh I was ready to say, "Well, this isn't so bad. Just a different opinion." But then it got terrible. Why couldn't you have just kept it not so bad and a different opinion? Why did you need to make it terrible?]

This Week's Caption Contest Winner

[Assoc. Ed. Note: See above. Cogratulations, Lawblog! You earned it.]

Do we even know his political stance?I’m not sure, he could lean pretty far left or right, but I’d think his views fall pretty much In The Middle.

[Assoc. Ed. Note: I like this because of how long it takes to get to the joke. And then when you finally you get to the joke it is WORTH IT.]
