Those who went to the (now monthly!) midnight screening of The Room in New York on April 24 were treated to David Cross and Jon Benjamin wearing wigs and impersonating Tommy Wiseau and Denny, respectively. The impression is approximate, but some of David's lines are hilarious ("Tennessee Williams is one of the great defenders of my work.") The event's organizers put up video of their introduction, complete with drunk-crowd interaction.

I sat this one out, but the funniest thing I heard about it (other than Cross and Benjamin's appearance) was that there were people there who thought it was a serious movie and tried to shush people when they yelled at the screen. For some reason that idea is hilarious. The Room is now traveling around the world, and will be screening in NYC the last Friday of every month at the Village East. If you bring friends, be sure to tell them it's a crowd-participation thing. (Thanks for the tip that the video was up, Joe!)
