George Maple – “Where You End And I Begin” (Feat. Grande Marshall)
Let’s clear up any confusion up front: (1) George Maple is a woman — an Australian singer/songwriter/producer who specializes in woozy, futuristic R&B — not a dude, and (2) “Where You End And I Begin” is her sleek new original single, not a Radiohead cover. A bouncy synth bassline provides the foundation for Maple’s breathy narration, her voice sliding effortlessly amidst the shimmering atmospherics. Philly rapper Grande Marshall shows up near the end with some Kanye-quoting bars, but this is Maple’s showcase through and through, and it’s an impressive step forward from last year’s debut EP. Hear “Where You End And I Begin” below.
