Bleachers – “Rollercoaster (How To Dress Well Remix)” (Stereogum Premiere)
Bleachers’ “Rollercoaster” is #4 at alternative radio. It soundtracks two separate ad campaigns starring frontman Jack Antonoff. It was the basis for a conversation between Antonoff and Bill Nye about the science of “rollercoastering.” And now the ace ’80s synthpop throwback has inspired a remix by How To Dress Well’s Tom Krell, who had this to say about his work:
I had the idea to twist this song into a last-dance-at-the-prom kinda vibe and when I started playing with the stems it just started to feel super cute and perfect. I began working on the tune right after meeting Jack–he is just such a sweet dude and I really wanted to do justice to his song while flipping it a bit in a How To Dress Well direction, both melodically and sonically. Jack texted me from Hawaii when he heard the tune and he was stoked, so I’m happy.
We’re stoked too! And happy. And maybe a little misty-eyed? Listen below.
