Ishi – “Push It” (Feat. Pusha T)

Pusha T Ishi Push It

Pusha T Ishi Push It

Swedish pop producer Ishi has worked with rappers before -- Lupe Fiasco, Tinie Tempah, and Professor Green to name a few -- but his collaboration with Pusha T outstrips all of those. Aptly named "Push It," the song finds King Push in prime fuck-failure mode, rapping about international and local victories with the kind of swagger that suggests he doesn't even know what losing feels like. Ishi's cascading production flows from ominous, thundering beats to pinches of high-pitched vocal samples, siren-like synths and clattering percussion. "Let the flutes go / Snake charmer" Pusha raps, delivering the greatest rap line about magic and reptiles in at least a decade. The song will be on Ishi's forthcoming new EP Spring Pieces. You can listen below and check out the addled black-and-white lyric video.
