Watch The Afghan Whigs Bring The Darkness, Cover Fleetwood Mac On Kimmel
Barrel-chested throb-rock relics the Afghan Whigs remain one of the great sure bets on the indie rock touring circuit, and their muscular and soulfully sleazy attack sounds great in just about any context, including a random Monday night on late-night TV. Last night, the Whigs were the musical guests on Jimmy Kimmel Live, where they knocked out a couple of songs from their 2014 reunion album Do To The Beast. On the show proper, they banged their way through the propulsive “The Lottery,” which has a truly great Isaac Hayes drum part. And as an online bonus, they did a medley, going straight from their own “I Am Fire” into a cover of Fleetwood Mac’s “Tusk.” Watch both performances below.
Do To The Beast is out now on Sub Pop.
