Fort Lean – “Quiet Day” (Stereogum Premiere)
Though they’ve been putting out music since 2011, Brooklyn’s Fort Lean are only now releasing their debut album. Quiet Day will be out 6/2, and today we’re premiering the title track, which follows up their other new singles “I Don’t Mind” and “Cut To The Chase.” The title track rolls along with the force of a steamroller, flattening your mood into the gloomy, gray overtones of hanging out at home during a rainstorm. But alone time doesn’t necessarily have to be depressing, sometimes sitting with your thoughts at home is cathartic in its own hushed way. Clouded by angst and a prominent bassline, I’m also getting early Weezer vibes from how enjoyable their ennui is. Listen below and check out their spring tour dates.
