Broken Water’s music is nothing if not varied. “Wasted” is the third single that we’ve heard off of the Olympia-based band’s forthcoming experiment, Wrought, which is due out next week, and it manages to both complement and contradict our first introduction to their new work. The song follows the record’s opening track “High-Lo,” which we premiered last month, and while “High-Lo” is deeply indebted to washed-out shoegaze aesthetics, “Wasted” is a snarling homage to early grunge.
