Leonard Cohen – “Never Gave Nobody Trouble”
Leonard Cohen released his last studio album Popular Problems just a few months ago, but he’s already released one live album since then, and now he’s got another one ready to go. First came the massive live album/DVD set Live In Dublin. And later this spring, he’ll release Can’t Forget: A Souvenir Of The Grand Tour, which collects recordings of live songs that Cohen doesn’t do all that often. That album has a couple of unreleased covers, of Georges Dor and George Jones songs, and a couple of unreleased Cohen originals. One of those is “Never Gave Nobody Trouble,” a bluesy ramble that mostly showcases how much like Tom Waits Cohen sounds now. Cohen and his band recorded it during a soundcheck, and you can hear it below.
Can’t Forget is out 5/18 on Columbia.
