Brian Wilson – “Sail Away” (Feat. Al Jardine & Blondie Chaplin)
Brian Wilson, the erratic genius who made the Beach Boys great, has been working on a new collab-heavy solo album called No Pier Pressure, and we’ve heard the early single “The Right Time.” The new song “Sail Away” reunites Wilson with his former Beach Boys bandmates Al Jardine and Blondie Chaplin, recreating some of the ecstatically layered harmonies of the Beach Boys’ golden era. Of the song, Wilson says, “We [tried] to recapture the feeling of Beach Boy harmonies in the 1960s. We overdubbed five times, which gave us 20 voices. That’s a small choir.” Listen to it below.
