Hollow Sunshine's music occupies some liminal space in between shoegaze and sludgy metal, imbued with all the melodic sensibilities of the former while embracing the slow build-up and attention to detail of the latter. "Careful Travel" -- the second single from their upcoming sophomore LP Bring Gold -- is on the softer side of the equation, a pillowing curtain of heavy guitar punctuated by Morgan Enos' gently disarming vocals. It hangs with a heavy shoulder of burden, a feeling of uneasy detachment. "Take my side," the lyrics wearily plead, but the song cuts out before we can get an answer. Listen below.
