Active Child -- the recording project of electronic musician Pat Grossi -- took a nice, long break in between the release of his 2011 debut and its followup. In that time, he put out one new EP and mostly stuck to behind-the-scenes work. Grossi's back later this year, though, with a new album called Mercy. We've already heard lead single "1999," and now he's shared "Never Far Away," a track that's equally as smooth. Everything that Active Child does has a glossy sheen, and this one in particular slinks along with a pleasantly soulful bounce. Grossi's overlapping vocals add some urgency to the otherwise chill song, allowing it to establish some stakes. Listen below.
