When Connecticut’s Ovlov announced their breakup last month, I was only sort of devastated. Anyone who’s ever had the distinct pleasure of chatting with Steve Hartlett knows that he’s in it for the long haul, and as Ovlov’s frontman and leading songwriter, I had a feeling that the project would continue through a different vein. “Stove” is Hartlett’s new moniker, and yesterday the slipshod variety show Kspill’s Couch uploaded a video of him debuting the project’s first song. Exploding in Sound will release Stove’s debut album, is Stupider, later this year.
