Coliseum – “Course Correction” (Stereogum Premiere)
Louisville post-punk trio Coliseum are set to release their fifth full-length, Anxiety’s Kiss, next month. The follow-up to 2013’s Sister Faith will feature production from J. Robbins, who has worked with the likes of Jawbox and the Dismemberment Plan. Coliseum have already teased us with cinematic videos for the gravelly, synth-drenched “We Are The Water” and the brisk “Sunlight In A Snowstorm,” and now they’re premiering the searing, up-tempo rocker “Course Correction.” It’s a cleaner sound that still preserves the band’s skull-rattling intensity, but singer Ryan Patterson’s voice is just as raw and relentless as ever, invoking the sheer power of Metallica’s James Hetfield. Hear the track below.
