Last month, Faith No More released “Superhero,” the first single from their upcoming Sol Invictus — their first studio album since 1997’s Album Of The Year. Today, the band release a remix of that song, courtesy of Einstürzende Neubauten’s Alexander Hacke. Hacke’s signature style (i.e., dank torture-chamber industrial) is evident here. The song has been stripped of almost all melody beyond Mike Patton’s vocal line; the whole thing is just layer upon layer of tense rhythm tracks and ominous soundtrack-ambient hum propelled by a funereal bagpipe.
