Watch Tame Impala Play The Epic “Let It Happen” On Conan
Tame Impala’s Kevin Parker still seems to be getting used to the idea that he’s the man behind one of the world’s most exciting bands. At Coachella this past weekend, he kept talking about how nervous he was, playing the festival’s largest stage just before AC/DC. Fortunately, though, Parker’s music doesn’t lack for confidence, and it translates just fine to the stage. Last night, Parker and Tame Impala were on Conan to play “Let It Happen,” their expansively funky new single. Even pared down to four minutes (instead of eight), “Let It Happen” is a monster, one that pulls in ideas from house and electro and space-rock without losing its dreamy cohesion. It sounded great onstage at Coachella, and it sounded great in Conan O’Brien’s studio. Watch the Conan performance below.
Tame Impala’s new album Currents is coming later this year on Interscope.
