Dej Loaf is a spitfire Detroit rapper best known for her no-fucks-given, ominous swag anthem “Try Me.” Her fabulous 2014 mixtape Sell Sole came on the heels of a record deal with Columbia, and that major label money is more than evident in the video for one of the tape’s more romantic tracks “Me U & Hennessy.” I love seeing Dej shit talk her way through a crowd, but a glimpse at her more intimate side is even more compelling given the contrast between the two. The fact that she seems just as comfortable playing up sexy as she was mobbing around Detroit streets proves this girl is on her way to stardom — if there’s any justice in the world at all. Plus, it seems like she’s about to collaborate with Lil Wayne — that really sounds like his voice at the end, and the video trails off with a tantalizing “To be continued…” She already had features with Birdman and Young Thug on Sell Sole, so maybe Wayne wants to stake his own claims. We’ll have to wait and see, but you can watch the video below.
