My Morning Jacket – “Believe (Nobody Knows)”
My Morning Jacket will release their seventh full-length record, The Waterfall, next month, and we’ve already heard the first single “Big Decisions.” Today, the band presented another song from the album on NPR’s All Songs Considered. When The Waterfall was announced, Jim James spoke to its content, asserting that recording the album in a house on Northern California’s Stinson Beach greatly influenced its outcome. I’m from sort-of near Stinson Beach, and I can’t say that this new track reminds me of hanging out on the foggy shoreline, but it definitely feels like the coastal drive to get there. Lyrically, the song expands upon the agnostic themes hinted at in the title. You can listen to “Believe (Nobody Knows)” over at NPR; it starts at the 1:40 mark.
The Waterfall is out 5/5 via ATO/Capitol.
