In 2013, ex-Abe Vigoda guitarist Michael Vidal released Dream Center as a cassette-only release through L.A. label Big Joy. Now Couple Skate, who are part of the same music group as Captured Tracks — is giving the album a wider release. This is neither the punk tropicalia nor the icy minimal wave Abe Vigoda transitioned into before eventually breaking up. Instead, on the initial track “Dreams (Come Back To Me),” Vidal seems to glory in looping plush, emotive guitar lines and crooning with the utter abandon of a slightly happier Morrissey.
