Marissa Nadler – “Carnival”
Marissa Nadler released Sacred Bones debut, July, back in 2014, but she’s kept busy since then by contributing to compilation records and covering well-known classics by likeminded artists. Last July it was Leonard Cohen’s “Seems So Long Ago, Nancy,” and at the beginning of the year, Nadler contributed a cover of Jason Molina’s “It’s Easier Now” to Through The Static And Distance, a benefit record for Molina’s family. Today, she uploaded a new track called “Carnival” to SoundCloud. It’s one of 13 songs included on One Hundred Thousand Voices, a compilation that benefits Active Minds, a non-profit organization that seeks to promote open discourse about mental health amongst students in the hopes that discussion will help de-stigmatize mental illness in collegial communities. The album will also include contributions from Lady Lamb The Beekeeper, Dum Dum Girls, and the Lovely Bad Things. Listen to Nadler’s “Carnival” below. !–more–>
