Communions – “Summer’s Oath”
Back in March, Copenhagen doom-dream quartet Communions announced their new self-titled EP and shared the initial single, “Out Of My World.” They’ve released the follow-up to that track today, “Summer’s Oath,” an urgent, weighty song that reverberates with old promises and anxious nostalgia. You can hear a clear connection here to their Danish peers — Iceage, Lower, Holograms — even as vocalist Martin Rehof’s remarkably wiry, self-possessed vocals put Communions in a league of their own.
