The mainstay indie-pop duo Mates Of State are slated to release their first EP since 2011’s Mountaintops next month. The forthcoming EP will be titled You’re Going To Make It, and we’ve already heard its nostalgic first single, “Staring Contest.” Today we’re premiering the second single, “Beautiful Kids.” From what we’ve already heard off of You’re Going To Make It, it’s clear that a lot of the songs emote the shy attempted intimacy of adolescence. “You should stare into my eyes more,” Kori Gardner sings on “Beautiful Kids,” an apt follow-up to “Staring Contest.” Listen below.
