Neon Indian – “Annie”
Era Extraña, the last album from Neon Indian, came out way the hell back in 2011, and the only thing we’ve heard from Alan Palomo lately was the TED talk he gave on Martha’s Vineyard last year. But all of a sudden, Neon Indian is back with a brand-new single, and it’s a good one. “Annie” is a piece of synthy, deliriously ’80s pop-reggae, and it sounds for all the world like Palomo is making his own bittersweet, emotional version of Eddy Grant’s “Electric Avenue.” The song is a ray of sunlight, and it could be a harbinger of things to come. Listen to it below.
