Beirut – “No No No”
Beirut are back this fall with No No No, Zach Condon and company’s first album since 2011’s The Rip Tide, and today they’ve shared the title track today. Backed by a subtly intensifying drum part and a slowly building array of triumphal brass, it’s a bouncy yet subdued take on the band’s signature blend of Eastern European folk music and off-kilter modern pop. “Don’t know the first thing about who you are,” Condon sings, but his own musical identity remains unmistakable.
