Watch Charli XCX & Jack Antonoff “Doing It” On TODAY
I once went to one of the TODAY show’s free outdoor morning shows in New York, mostly because it seemed like a thing to write about. It’s an incredibly strange experience. You’re in this smaller-than-it-looks space between buildings, surrounded by tourists and rabid-superfan types at zero o’clock in the morning. The sun is barely up. The morning I went, it was cold as hell outside, and the person onstage was Phil Collins. He didn’t sing “In The Air Tonight,” but he did sing at least one song from the Tarzan soundtrack. Anyway, Charli XCX was the person singing this morning (even though she was just on the show), and she did three songs from last year’s very good Sucker album. She’s about to head out on a co-headlining tour with Bleachers, so she and Bleachers frontman Jack Antonoff did “Doing It” as a duet. She also sang “Famous” and “Boom Clap.” Below, watch all three performances and check out the dates for that expanded tour.
