XO is the moniker of Sunil Heera, an alt-R&B producer from the UK who dabbles in garage, house, and trip-hop. At the tail end of last year he released his debut, the Through The Night EP, and this year he's following that up with another EP called The Ethereal Experience. Unike most producers who draw heavily on house/garage influences, Heera does vocals himself, and he sings as well as enlisting various other vocalists for tracks. His new single "U & I" features Shay Lia, a Canadian crooner who recently guested on Kaytranada's "Leave Me Alone." Annie Mac debuted "U & I" on her BBC Radio 1 show last week, and it's all the pillowy longing for your ex rolled into a funk-and-stutter groove.
