On Saturday night, actor Michael Shannon rounded up a group of Chicago-based musicians for a Smiths tribute concert at SPACE in Evanton, Illinois. His lineup was made up Jason Narducy (Bob Mould, Split Single, Superchunk), Dag Juhlin (Poi Dog Pondering, The Slugs), Gerald Dowd (Robbie Fulks, Justin Roberts), and Curt Morrison (Tributosaurus). They performed The Queen Is Dead in full, followed by a few other assorted Smiths tracks, including “Handsome Devil,” “How Soon Is Now?,” “Still Ill,” and “Shoplifters Of The World Unite.” You can watch video of them performing opening track “The Queen Is Dead” below.
