LGBT Protestors Get Iggy Azalea To Drop Out Of Pittsburgh Pride Event
Things haven’t been easy for Iggy Azalea lately. Back in March, she postponed her entire summer arena tour and went dark on social media for a little while, then canceled the tour completely soon afterward. And now she’s dropped out of the Pittsburgh Pride celebration that she was booked to headline after various LGBT groups protested her inclusion. As Out reports, various LGBT groups planned to boycott Iggy’s performance, claiming that she’d appropriated black culture and that she’d made racist and homophobic statements on Twitter. (The one homophobic tweet I could find was a since-deleted 2010 post, in which she wrote, “When guys whisper in eachothers ears I always think it’s kinda homo.”) After those posts, Iggy has canceled her appearance, offering an apology and an explanation on Twitter:

In happier Iggy-related news, she and her boyfriend, Lakers shooting guard Nick “Swaggy P” Young, are engaged.
