Locrian – “Heavy Water”
On their upcoming LP, Infinite Dissolution, Locrian are envisioning a post-apocalyptic life. As they told Noisey, the avant-garde/metal/drone band’s inspiration for the album largely comes from The Sixth Extinction: An Unnatural History — an intriguing novel, written by journalist Elizabeth Kolbert, declaring mass extinction due to destructive trends in climate change. Infinite Dissolution is produced by Greg Norman (of Pelican and Russian Circles) at Steve Albini’s Electrical Audio in Chicago, and mastered by Brad Boatright at Audiosiege. Listen to “Heavy Water,” the first song released from Locrian’s eerie soundscape.
