Canada’s Much Music Video Awards were held last night and the Weeknd, being Canadian, was on deck to perform his new single “The Hills” and his trusty 50 Shades Of Gray standby “Earned It.” He also picked up a handful of awards: “Often” got Video Of The Year, Best Director, and Best Pop Video, and he also earned the title of Most Buzzworthy Canadian, beating out Drake and Justin Bieber. His two performances were both solid, though “The Hills” was plagued by the unfortunate and lame hashtag #FlameAbel, a play on his real name (Abel Tesfaye) and the pyrotechnics on display. (I guess?)
