Short clips of live performances by Soundgarden and Alice In Chains were included in Cameron Crowe’s 1992 film, Singles — whose soundtrack served as a touchstone for an entire generation of grunge fans — but the full performances haven’t been available until recently. Video of Alice In Chains doing “It Ain’t Like That” and “Would?” and Soundgarden doing “Birth Ritual” have surfaced online after being featured on the film’s Blu-Ray release from back in April. The Soundgarden one is pretty significant, as the band recorded the track specifically for the Singles soundtrack, and didn’t perform the song live outside of the movie until earlier this year, when they played it for the first time in 23 years.
