Bobby Shmurda Rearrested For Prison Shank
Late last year, Brooklyn rapper Bobby Shmurda (aka Ackquille Pollard) was arrested in Manhattan on drug and weapons charges. Although he pled not guilty to all charges, his label, Epic, has declined to pay his $2 million bail, and he’s currently being held at Rikers Island. XXL reports that during a court hearing on Thursday, the prosecution announced that Shmurda had been re-arrested for “promoting prison contraband,” a Class D felony, after being found in possession of a “sharpened metal instrument” (aka shank) while incarcerated. Shmurda’s Manhattan Supreme Court trial will begin 10/5, but he will be tried separately in the Bronx for this new contraband case.
