Father John Misty’s Next Album Is Written, Isn’t About Love
Father John Misty’s excellent sophomore album I Love You, Honeybear is one of the year’s best, but touring behind this record hasn’t stopped Josh Tillman from writing his next. He told NME that the next album is done, and will build on the ideas and sentiments of “Bored In The USA” and “Holy Shit.” I think “Bored In The USA” is a devastating, brilliantly smart track, so that bodes well. “Writing about intimacy afforded me a really unexpected level of clarity,” he said. “Kind of turning that perspective outward, that’s essentially what the next album is about.” Maybe we’ll get something more akin to his phenomenal cover of Arcade Fire’s “The Suburbs”?
