Grandbrothers – “Arctica” Video
German duo Grandbrothers make magical instrumental music, combining Erol Sarp’s classically trained and jazz piano talents with Lukas Vogel’s constructed synthesizers and electromechanical hammers. Their debut album, Dilation, was released this past spring, at which point they collaborated with Warped Type, a group of German visual music makers, on the video for “Naive Rider.” Grandbrothers and Warped Type return with a new video for album track “Arctica,” which features a magnificent grand piano and a spread of synths. Hands move geometric shapes all around Sarp and Vogel as they play under spotlights, along with mesmerizing closeups that capture the instrument’s mechanics. The back-and-forth shots make it seem like an on-stage battle, but with Grandbrothers, it’s always a complementary blend of ambiance. Check it out below.
Dilation is out now via German label FILM.
