Trent Reznor Is Sharing Gone Girl Outtakes, Reportedly Working On Fight Club Rock Opera
Back when Apple Music launched at the beginning of the month, Trent Reznor shared instrumental versions of Nine Inch Nails’ The Fragile and With Teeth as exclusives to the new service that he helped start. Now, he’s beginning to put up tracks that he and Atticus Ross recorded for the Gone Girl score that never got used in the film.
“We never start the composing process for a film by writing for specific scenes — we like to explore a variety of moods and textures to see how they feel in different places and contexts,” he wrote on his Connect page. “This particular track is one we really love but wound up not playing so well with others.” The track is called “Abandoned Sets” — you can listen to it here.
In other Reznor news, there’s a rumor going around that he’s attached to the Fight Club rock opera that David Fincher and Julie Taymor are producing. His team hasn’t confirmed the news just yet, but podcast host Jeff Goldsmith tweeted earlier this week that author Chuck Palahniuk told him that Reznor would be involved with the production.
