Dogs On Acid – “The Prick”
Dogs On Acid are one of those bands built on the remnants of other bands — three of them were in Algernon Cadwallader and one was in Snowing, both bands you’ve probably run across if you grew up around the tristate area punk scene. Their newest project has all of the expertise and none of the baggage, so if you want to get in on the ground floor, then now’s the time. The Philadelphia four-piece is releasing their self-titled debut later this year, which was recorded at The Headroom, the near-legendary studio of their guitarist Joe Reinhardt (who’s also in Hop Along). Their new track, “The Prick,” is a greasy, straight-edged indie rock track without pretension. It’s all about our tendency to want to externalize our pain after we’ve been wounded, to grab someone and say, look, this is how much I hurt. It’s pretty great. Listen below.
