N.W.A Reunion Tour Rumored With Eminem As Honorary Member
UPDATE: A rep for Dr. Dre and Eminem tells Rolling Stone they have “no plans to tour together either solo or with N.W.A.”
Way back around 2000, there was talk of an N.W.A reunion, with the four surviving original members and then Snoop Dogg standing in for the late Eazy-E. That happened only briefly, but it at least made some kind of sense. But now that the new N.W.A biopic Straight Outta Compton is about to come out, there’s now more talk of an N.W.A reunion, this time with a stranger twist. Universal head Donna Langley tells The Hollywood Reporter that she has ideas about N.W.A reuniting for a European tour, with Eminem serving as an “honorary member.” Her idea is to use the tour to promote the movie: “We don’t have anything settled yet with everyone’s schedules. But we think it can create a lot of buzz.” The idea of Em doing Eazy’s lyrics is frankly horrifying, but with Langley on board and with the partial reunion at BET Experience last month, this thing could actually happen.
