Rick Springfield has a role in the upcoming Meryl Streep-starring rock film Ricki And The Flash and, to promote it, he participated in a sketch on last night’s Jimmy Kimmel that purported to show the origin story behind his timeless hit “Jessie’s Girl.” In real life, the namesake was the girlfriend of one of Springfield’s friends named Gary, but he changed the title at the last minute to be named after Los Angeles Rams player Ron Jessie.
