D’Angelo, Ed Sheeran, Michael McDonald, & More Set For Bill Withers Tribute Concert
Soul great Bill Withers has largely stayed out of the public eye for the past few decades, only making appearances in cases as rare as his Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame induction. But Withers will be in attendance this fall, when a number of music luminaries gather to pay him tribute at the site of one of this great triumphs. At New York’s Carnegie Hall 10/1, a whole lot of famous people will get together to perform all of Withers’ classic live album Live At Carnegie Hall. Withers’ fellow part-time recluse D’Angelo will take the stage, and the lineup also includes Ed Sheeran, Michael McDonald, Sheryl Crow, Aloe Blacc, Keb’ Mo’, Amos Lee, Gregory Porter, Kathy Mattea, Ledisi, and Dr. John. And maybe someone will be able to coax Withers to the stage to sing a song or two. Don’t count on it, though. Tickets are available here.
