Clarence Clarity – “Will To Believe” Video
Clarence Clarity’s fractured, bizzaro-pop insists that surrealism assume musical form, and while he somehow achieves that in the midst of the fragmented bliss that is No Now, videos are far more effective conduits for this kind of rupture. Accordingly, the video for “Will To Believe” is an addled-VCR filmstrip of scenes reduced to neon negatives and re-magnified through a screen of Clarity’s unnerving omnipotence in his own universe. If that jazzy bit threaded through the glassy, confetti chorus doesn’t make you believe in Clarity’s worldview, then maybe this M. C. Escher-channeling video will. Watch.
