Doe Paoro – “Nostalgia”
Memories are nice to think about once in a while, but if we dwell on them too often we forget to live. After “Traveling,” “The Wind” and “Growth/Decay,” Band To Watch alum Doe Paoro’s latest single off her experimental R&B-filled album After is a subdued dance track. “Nostalgia” asks you to try to forget the people in your past, live in the present, and hope for the future. Paoro laments over how people’s lingering memories affect them: “I wish you could see your history is jading you/ Nostalgia is killing us.” Her warm, delicate vocals intensely call for change in a way that exposes her own weakness for nostalgia.
