Grubs are the charming Bristol trio made up of members who have their hands in a number of other UK bands, including Joanna Gruesome and Trust Fund. They put out a lovely low-key 7″ last year that featured “Dec 15th” and “Gym Shame,” and they’re back with “Windwaker,” another gem that will appear on their upcoming debut full-length, It Must Be Grubs. The track floats along with the same weightless energy as their other ones — light pop for a good time. I have no clue what they’re saying when all of their voices come together in the hook — “goodbye,” “not mine,” “gets high,” all three?? — but fuck, it’s super satisfying. Cute dog, too.
