DJ Dahi – “Drop”
DJ Dahi is one of the most accomplished producers in rap and R&B. He made the beats for such illustrious tracks as Drake’s “Worst Behavior,” Kendrick Lamar’s “Money Trees,” Tinashe and Dev Hynes’ “Bet,” Vince Staples’ “Lemme Know,” Schoolboy Q’s “Hell Of A Night,” Ty Dolla $ign’s “Stand For,” and Lily Allen’s “Sheezus” (hey, “Sheezus” was a magnificent beat). Most recently, he contributed some work to Dr. Dre’s Compton. Now he’s trying his hand at EDM with a single boasting the subtlety-free title “Drop.” It’s a hard-hitting trap-rave production in the vein of Hudson Mohawke or RL Grime, but it maintains that floating-liquid quality that has come to define his work.
