Stream Flock Of Dimes’ Original Music For Gertrude Stein Stage Adaptation The World Is Round
Wye Oak’s Jenn Wasner has been making great experimental synthpop under the name Flock Of Dimes for a few years now, although she’s only released a handful of singles thus far. Recently, she wrote some original music to accompany a Baltimore stage adaptation of Gertrude Stein’s 1939 children’s book The World Is Round directed by Lola B. Pierson, and now she’s shared the recordings on SoundCloud. The compositions are lovely, piano- and synth-based meditations that follow Stein’s circular, repetitive prose style: “Here I am, seeing I am sitting I can see I am/ When I wish I wish that I was where I am/ I am Rose and Rose is me, I can sit and I can see, yes I can.” Listen below.
For those curious, here's a link to the music I wrote for THE WORLD IS ROUND, an excellent play that my friends made https://t.co/PVS4wh5ytW
