Everyone might not know BJ The Chicago Kid’s name, but they probably know his voice. He’s lent his soulful croon to songs by people like Schoolboy Q and Dr. Dre, and he appeared on the intro to fellow Chicagoan Chance The Rapper’s Acid Rap and several tracks on the great Surf. Now Chance is returning the favor by hopping on a new song from BJ’s forthcoming album In My Mind, “Church,” which also features young Compton MC Buddy. “She say she wanna drink, do drugs, and have sex tonight/ But I got church in the mornin’, church in the mornin’,” BJ sings in the chorus, trying to resist temptation.
