First Band On Stephen Colbert’s Late Show Will Be A Paul Simon Tribute Act
Next month, Stephen Colbert will take over David Letterman’s old spot as host of the Late Show on CBS. We’ve already reported that Kendrick Lamar will be Colbert’s very first musical guest. (He’ll appear 9/9, on Colbert’s second episode.) And now The New York Times has revealed Colbert’s entire lineup of guests for the first week of his show. Country star Toby Keith will follow Lamar as his second musical guest. And the first proper band who will appear on the show, it turns out, is Troubled Waters, a Paul Simon tribute band who do not appear to have a website. So! Maybe this is an elaborate prank? Maybe Troubled Waters is really just Paul Simon? Maybe it’s Pavement? Or maybe it really is just an anonymous Paul Simon tribute band. We’ll find out on 9/11, when the band is scheduled to appear. Other first-week guests include George Clooney, Jeb Bush, Scarlett Johansson, Elon Musk, Amy Schumer, Stephen King, and Uber chief executive Travis Kalanick.
