A few years, Mos Def changed his name to Yasiin Bey, and he was still using that name when he dropped the new track “Basquiat Ghostwriter” earlier this month. But on the new single “Sensei On The Beat,” Bey has gone back to his old Mighty Mos moniker, as Nah Right points out. And he’s teamed up with Ski Beatz, the Jay-Z/Camp Lo/Curren$y producer who’s given him a bubbling beat. It’s all brought out the best in him. “Sensei On The Beat” absolutely goes. It’s got Mos back in his old loopy, charismatic shit-talk form, and it’s the best thing I’ve heard from him in ages. Listen to it below.
