Empress Of – “How Do You Do It” Video
Empress Of, aka Lorely Rodriquez, is prepping her self-produced, -recorded, and -engineered debut album, Me, and today she’s shared the video for album track “How Do You Do It.” It follows her previously released “Water Water” and “Kitty Kat” — oh, and her gray, static cover of Katy Perry’s teen-pop gold “Hot N Cold.” The “How Do You Do It” video is a flip side to the Katy Perry lifestyle, and attempts to capture the far less glamorous side of being a touring musician. Rodriquez writes of the clip:
On tour, I spend 23 hours of my day driving, flying, shaving my legs in gross venue bathrooms, sleeping on floors or in motels… to get to that one hour of bliss on stage. I wanted to make a video about this other side of being an artist.
The video was directed by Molly Hawkins for Ccontender. Watch it below.
Me is out 9/11 via Terrible Records. Pre-order it here.
